Ben also works at the Northern College of Acupuncture teaching students a variety of practical skills and theoretical knowledge, and leads the Bodywork and Clinical Practice modules on the course.

ABOUT BEN

​

Ben studied a Masters degree in Acupuncture at The Northern College of Acupuncture, graduating in 2012. Whilst studying Acupuncture he also completed a diploma in Remedial Sports Massage, developing a specialism in musculo-skeletal and painful conditions. He began his practice at York Clinic for Integrated Healthcare in 2011 where he worked for over 11 years before moving to his own customised space within Excel Sports Clinic in 2022.

Ben's treatments combine western anatomy and physiology theory with traditional chinese medicine theory and practice to create an integrated approach using a variety of different treatment options and methods. While this approach lends itself particularly well to painful conditions, he also treats a variety of other issues from migraine to anxiety and depression.

Aside from seeing patients Ben also leads the Bodywork module on the Northern College of Acupuncture degree course, teaching students the methods and theory of using hands-on techniques and acupuncture in combination. He is module leader for Year 1 Bodywork and Year 2 Clinical Practice modules. He also spent 5 years working at St. James Hospital treating patient's for the side-effects of cancer treatment, and worked at York University Health Science Department with papers published in the subject of neck pain and depression.
